Baseball may be a legacy sport at ASU, and important to die hards (like us), but it is not a revenue sport, and otherwise does not drive passions in the larger media market. The professional sports have replaced the ASU following, and even football and basketball, will only get media light, when they are winning programs.
Anderson and Crow, simply don't care about the non-revenue sports, unless they are receiving media attention - which can be due to winning, or if they are the source of problems.
So absent a potential impact on fundraising, "status quo" is the plan.
Even if UCLA sweeps, ASU will likely qualify for a regional - somewhere. For Anderson, despite his statements at the time of the CTG firing, getting to a regional is all that is necessary for CTS to stay on indefinitely.
I made this point before - CTS has been here longer than Esmay, yet Esmay had much better results.
