: played an excellent game. I actually felt bad for the bruins. What's wrong with me?
: What an incredible game. The inside games of both teams were very powerful. I didn't see the final stats but Gonzaga's free throw shooting and three point shooting seemed far less effective than usual.
: It was one of the most incredible college games I've seen. The ending was obviously special.
Mick Cronin did a masterful job of preparing UCLA and controlling the pace of the game. The players remained disciplined on both offense and defense. Gonzaga was never able to get into its transition offense. Cronin called timely TOs to break the Zag momentum and keep them from getting onto any scoring runs. Too bad UCLA lost.
BUT -
In a post game interview, Mark Few stated that Suggs made that shot all the time during their game-saving shot drills. A team that was never really challenged during this undefeated season ran daily game-saver drills. So it seems that Few is a darn good coach as well. It was no accident that a final buzzer shot was placed in the hands of a recruit with a bunch of rating stars after his name. Too bad either team had to lose.
I wonder if the notoriety the PAC gained from its run will lift player recruiting for all its teams , or just for the 5 that performed in the tournament.
