I was off the CTS wagon shortly after he arrived.
He was "the pro from dover" who had the answers, and the rubes in Arizona were just going to have to understand how a modern, D1 program worked. Only he knew the secret sauce. Trust the process. Critics just did not understand.
I don't know why, but he fired at least one pitching coach shortly before the season started - but that was OK, because he would handle both HC and PC roles - but, not to worry, he was really, really that good. Well....he is not.
With 7 seasons, I think his best finish was 3rd place in the Conference - which he has done once, in either his first or second year.
